Writing prompts that direct ACTIE

ACTIE is a director, not a mind-reader. The clearer your prompt, the closer the result lands to the film in your head.

Writing prompts that direct ACTIE

A prompt is a creative brief. The more specific you are about character, setting, mood and action, the less ACTIE has to guess — and the fewer revisions you will need.

Start with the scene, not the style

Lead with what is happening: who is in the frame, where they are, and what they are doing. Style, format and camera language come next. When the scene is clear, ACTIE can layer the look on top without losing the story.

Name the details that matter

If a character has red hair, say so. If the desert is at dusk, say so. The details you leave out, ACTIE will invent — which is fine for filler, but not for the moments you care about.

One idea per prompt

  • In Quick Create, keep each prompt focused on a single image or shot.
  • In Auto-Director, put the story in the idea and your wishes for the look in the preferences.
  • Approve each step before moving to the next — that is what the workflow is designed for.

Treat prompting like writing a shot list. Short, vivid and intentional beats long and vague every time.
