Building consistent characters
Your audience connects with characters, not renders. Consistency is what makes them feel real.

Inconsistent characters break immersion. In Auto-Director you settle each character once — their look in words and then in reference pictures — and ACTIE uses those references across the film, so they stay recognisable from the first shot to the last.
Define before you generate
Use the World and World Images steps to lock in the details: hair, age, clothing, setting. The more you settle here, the less drift you will see later. Voices and accents are set out with the lines in Dialogue & Sound.
Approve, then commit
Do not move on until you are happy with a character. Once a character is approved and used in scenes, changing them means regenerating those scenes — which costs Coins.
Reuse, do not re-describe
- In Quick Create, add your character's picture as a reference and name them in the prompt.
- Keep a short note of each character’s key traits for quick recall.
- Let ACTIE carry the consistency — your job is to confirm, not to re-explain.
Consistency is mostly discipline. Define once, approve once, and let ACTIE handle the rest.
